Pros

Bye Bye Winter

Freezing cold winters with horrible weather is not a thing in Arizona. This is a big pro that prevents damage to both your home and car. It also protects residents from an abnormally high electric or gas bill during the winter months. The only time you will see significant snow is on the mountaintop. Another bonus? Less people with flu-like symptoms during the normally cold winter months!

Low Cost of Living

This is an incredible benefit when you consider its neighboring states have some of the highest cost of living in the United States. Arizona remains one of the best kept lifestyle secrets in the southwest.

Cons

Like all great things in life, there are some cons to consider. These aren’t earth shattering, but they are cons worth considering. Before you commit to Arizona, here are a few things to keep in mind.

Heat and Humidity

The only place hotter than Florida is Arizona. It has the type of southwestern weather that never lets up. It doesn’t take long to figure out the best outfit queues for each day. You can never be underdressed, but being overdressed is a rookie tourist mistake.

Public Transportation

Arizona is not a favorable place if you depend on public transportation. You won’t suffer to get around, but it will be a lot less convenient without dedicated transportation in Arizona. Combined with the heat, lack of wheels is a good way to have a miserable day.

Wildlife

Arizona’s lack of pest bugs is a major pro, but it is replaced with snakes and scorpions. Thankfully, this wildlife is far out in the desert and away from civilization. If you plan on doing a lot of outdoor activities, prepare accordingly before going on a desert hike.

A Wonderful Experience

Arizona is a lot more than the Australia-lite nickname it has been given. People are flocking to the area and not looking back, and for good reason. Once you see what Arizona has to offer, it is hard to consider lesser options.
