Summer Retreat

Architect Sævik redesigned a 1960’s artist’s retreat situated in Norway into a “contemplative hideout” where she would be able to find piece of mind, serenity, and inspiration.

The retreat is divided into three different sections that are connected via a series of outdoor galleries, which focus on selected views as opposed to grandiose, panoramic views all round. A design choice inspired by Japanese architecture.
