Audun Ask Blaker has taken a very unique approach to the designing of the classic clock. While time is cyclical Audun has taken an extremely linear approach in this clocks design. We can’t help but think that a calendar addition to this could possibly make it one of the best clock designs we have ever seen!
A key aspect of Open Design is the use of programmable / generic production, and the clock is designed so that it consists almost entirely of standard components and parts are manufactured using generic production methods.
The uniqueness of this watch is the linear time display. Time is often the represented by a linear scale, while the classic urmodellen is circular and periodic.
Linear time is an attempt to capture and record the linear notion of time by allowing a moving rectilinear scale represent time unstoppably moving past the fixed pointer that indicates the present.
