The Dino Pet by Yonder Biology is an exciting endeavor to present biology in a fun and interactive way to children. The project aims to help them realize that the natural world is just as magical as the stories and films that make them so wide-eyed with wonder.
The Dino Pet is the world’s first bio-luminescent pet. The dinosaur shape is, in fact, a habitat for a species of marine algae called Dinoflagellata (we see what they did there!) that photosynthesizes during the day and glows at night, growing into the shape when shaken or agitated.
The unique “pet” can live for 1-3 months but can carry on going as long as it’s fed the correct diet. Check out the Kickstarter page as well as the video below!
