Times Square
New York City’s Times Square is easily one of the most iconic spots on the globe. It is a visual feast of lights and movement, with some of the best shops and dining spots you’ll find in New York; this is one NYC experience that you absolutely cannot miss. There are countless Instagram-worthy moments to be had here (keep your eyes peeled for MTV’s world-famous studio).
The Empire State Building
Once upon a time this American icon was the tallest building in the world. The Empire State Building has been the focus of pop culture – movies and music alike – for decades. Make sure that you don’t miss out on seeing the city from the observation deck, on the 86th floor of the building. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape. One of the city’s most famous tourist attractions, the Empire State Building it’s a lovely spot to take your date – it now stays open until 2am!
Madison Square Garden
Named after James Madison of Pennsylvania, where the original Madison Square Gardens once stood, this landmark stadium has been located in New York since the 1960s, and has since become an integral part of NYC culture. It was recently renovated in 2013, and truly is a sight to behold. You should definitely feature this site prominently on your New York City bucket list.
Central Park
No matter what the time of year, you cannot complete your stay in NYC without a visit to Central Park. The stunning park with its lush green lawns are an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle. As vast as the park is, with an impressive list of attractions – like a paddle in the lake, a shopping sesh in the mall, or a visit to the zoo – you can easily see it all in a day on a rented bike. You can even spend some time appreciating literary greats as you amble down Literary Walk to view the statues of some great English writers of our time.
Whether you’re in town for a week, a month, or a year, you will never run out of amazing and memorable things to do and see in New York City. Just remember to always practice safety and common sense, never go to unfamiliar territory alone, and don’t spend so much time snapping pics that you forget to fully soak up the moment!
