Pop culture is a compelling beast. With this in mind, Italian art director Federico Mauro was inspired to create an expansive catalog of famous guns – both historical and fictional – that have infiltrated our pop psyche.
What would Dirty Harry be without his iconic .44 Magnum hand cannon? Or Han Solo without his heavy blaster pistol at his side, ready to be drawn and fired to carve his way out of yet another sticky situation. And how would history’s landscape have changed had Lee Harvey Oswald not been able to get his hands on the Carcano rifle that ended JFK’s life?
These firearms are as recognizable, and possibly as iconic – or infamous – as the people who wielded them.
