5 Beach Ideas For Family Fun

Finding the perfect beach destination for a family can be very hard. You need a place that has child-friendly lodging near the beach. You need attractions nearby for when you want a break from the sun and sand. You also need a place that’s affordable and safe. Thankfully, there are a number of such beach destinations, filled with great activities for both parents and children. Here are my 5 beach ideas for family fun.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

This beach is renowned for its fun Myrtle Beach attractions, its busy boardwalks, its amusement parks, live entertainment and arcade games. It is the perfect beach destination for a family looking to have some fun. It’s filled with entertainment for children of all ages.

The beach can get very busy, especially during the summer. When you need a break from all that hustle and bustle, you can visit the resort area, which hugs 60 miles of coastline. Along the coastline, you’ll find quiet spots such as Surfside Beach. Surfside Beach is a clean, safe, autism-friendly and very accessible (thanks to its many access points) beach.

San Diego, California

San Diego has so many great beaches it seems like it’s showing off. It’s one of the great family beaches in the country. Coronado Beach is San Diego’s best family-friendly beach. Little children can wade through its tide pool, while older children go surfing or boogie boarding.

San Diego also has a wonderful La Jolla coastline, which is vigilantly watched over by lifeguards. You can go paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, and sailing there. Or, you can walk through its sandy beaches and boardwalk.

Grand Haven, Michigan

Grand Haven lies on Lake Michigan’s gorgeous shores. You can visit its city beach, or state park, among other great family-friendly options. Kirk Park is another option, ideal for walking with your dog across its many trails. If you’re looking for even more secluded options, West Olive is just perfect for the family seeking solitude.

There’s a wonderful boardwalk that stretches past restaurants and shops and towards a beautiful lighthouse. You could stop by the musical fountain and enjoy its 20-minute light and water show every summer night.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

This beautiful peninsula is filled with fun activities. You can pick between its sand dunes, mini golfing, lobster rolls, ice cream stands, and whale watching, or just admire its gray cedar shake houses.

Cape Cod is made up of 15 towns and loads of beautiful villages. You could stay at Barnstable, Cape Cod’s biggest town and home to two lovely villages: Hyannis, and Hyannisport.

Ogunquit, Maine

Although many people associate Maine with its rocky coastline, Ogunquit has a long, sandy beach that is often filled with happy families during the summer months. Ogunquit Beach lies between Ogunquit River and the Atlantic Ocean. The nearby Footbridge Beach is a much more serene beach. You can take a walk along the paved Marginal Way, overlooking a cliff that gives a spectacular view of the ocean. If anybody gets tired, the walk has lots of benches you can sit in and rest.
This summer, treat everyone with a trip to fun places to go with family. They’ll love it!
