How To Tell if Your Dog Enjoys Dog Boarding

When you leave your dog at a boarding facility, you want to be sure that he or she is having a good time. Here are some signs that your dog is enjoying his or her stay:

Excited to Go

First, see if they’re excited to go inside. If they seem hesitant or even scared, it’s likely that they’re not comfortable in their surroundings.

Eating well

A dog who is happy and comfortable will have no trouble eating their meals. If you notice that your dog is leaving food behind or seems to have lost their appetite, it may be a sign that they’re not enjoying their stay.

Playing with other dogs

Dogs are social creatures and love to play. If you see your dog interacting and playing with the other dogs at the dog day care with Kip, it’s a good sign that they’re happy there. On the other hand, if they’re hiding away or seem anxious, it may be time to find a different boarding facility.

They are relaxed and calm

A dog who is stressed will often pace, pant, or bark excessively. If you see your dog lounging around and seeming calm, it’s a good sign that he or she is enjoying the boarding experience.

They are using the bathroom regularly

A dog who is comfortable will have regular bowel movements. If you notice that your dog is holding their urine or has diarrhea, it may be a sign of stress and discomfort.

Ask the Staff

If you see any of these signs, it’s likely that your dog is enjoying his or her stay at the boarding facility. If you have any concerns, be sure to speak to the staff to get their professional opinion. Ask the staff how your dog is doing. They’ll be able to give you a good idea of how your dog is adjusting and whether or not they are enjoying their stay.
