Fusefones by Franklin Gaw
When I stumbled on Franklin Gaw’s portfolio these earphones really caught my eye! Being the music lovers we are, we spend a chunk of the day in our earphones. Unfortunately we haven’t tested out these bad boys but they look slick as ice and the concept along with them is super interesting. See the diagrams below as Franklin explains how the sharing feature works.
Fusefones are a line of intelligent headphones that are designed for sharing.
With built in memory within the headphones, they become your music genius by scanning your music, saving song info from your friend’s library’s, and even logging your music tastes.
In terms of the form, I was really inspired by classic knob shapes and it’s simplicity to communicate function and feature.
I explored color and its contrast within synthetic and organic materials within designed objects as a means of calling out features.
